Frequently asked
Why is Kaho cheaper than Wispr Flow?

We're a small DACH-based team running on lean, pay-as-you-go infrastructure. We pass the savings on. Same class of underlying models — frontier-grade transcription + frontier LLMs — without the venture-scale margins.

What counts as a "word"?

Whitespace-separated tokens in the transcribed output. Reshape, Translate, and Fix-grammar quick-actions on already-typed text don't count toward the limit; only voice transcriptions do.

Where does my audio go?

Transmitted over TLS to our API in Germany and transcribed on our own GPU in Germany. Our server deletes your audio as soon as the text is ready. The Kaho app keeps your last 500 recordings on your computer; you can open that folder from the menu bar and delete them. No external AI service and no fallback: your audio and text stay on our infrastructure in Germany. Details in our Privacy Policy.

Does Kaho work in German?

Yes — our transcription engine handles German fluently, the rewrite/reshape model recognises German vocabulary and brand spellings, and Translate works in any pair. The desktop UI is currently English.

Can I cancel anytime?

Pro isn't available to buy yet — billing is currently switched off, so there's nothing to cancel. When Pro launches you'll be able to cancel any time from the billing portal in Settings → Account, with access continuing to the end of the paid period.

Is there a Windows version?

Yes. Kaho runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit): download it here. A Microsoft Store version is coming.
